Roger Bennett

Roger Bennett, BA, MSc(Econ), DPhil, Professor of Marketing at London Metropolitan University and Director of the Centre for Research in Corporate and Marketing Communications.

He spent four years in the mining and metallurgical industries prior to taking a lectureship at what was then Kingston Polytechnic. After periods in various institutions he left academic life in 1981 and spent nearly ten years as a director of a management consultancy. He re-entered academe in 1991 and is currently a professor of marketing at London Metropolitan University.

He currently specialise in nonprofit and voluntary sector marketing, especially the effectiveness of the advertising imagery used by charitable organisations. A lot of his work over the last 10 years has focused on disability issues and social marketing topics of a 'sensitive' nature. Additionally he engage in research of a more conventional nature, including studies in the fields of international marketing, knowledge management and orthodox marketing communications.
