In August, Micki Krause left her position as CSO at PacifiCare Health Insurance to take the CISO post at Pacific Life Insurance in Newport Beach, Calif. Krause's new job gives her responsibility for all aspects of information security at PLI.
During her career, Krause directed the development and implementation of corporate security architecture, including policies, baseline controls, and education and awareness programs, for Fortune 500 companies. She has overseen the development of e-commerce security strategies for Internet network security and implemented security technologies in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. She began her began her career in security at Rockwell Corporation in 1984.
Krause co-edited the Auerbach Handbook of Information Security Management and has authored numerous articles on information security management, Internet and computer ethics, telecommunications security, computer viruses, ethics and computing technology, and privacy and the information age. She also co-founded and was the first president of the Orange County, Calif. chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and later wrote for the ISSA publication Password.
