Professor Doctor Lutgart Van den Berghe is Doctor in Economics at Ghent University. She is Partner of the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School as well as executive director of GUBERNA, the Belgian governance institute.
Lutgart Van den Berghe is a recognized expert in corporate governance and corporate social responsibility and serves as non-executive director in a number of listed and non-listed multinational companies, such as CSM, SHV, Electrabel and Belgacom. She also is a Member of the Advisory Board of Lazard.
She has been a member of the Board of the ING Group (1991-2003), KLM (2001-2004), Solvay (2003-2007), and Capco NV (2000–2003). She has published many books including 'Corporate Governance in a Globalising World : Convergence or Divergence?', 'Vade-mecum de l'administrateur' and 'Integrated Performance Management'.
