Lewis R. Ireland

Dr. Ireland was an active member of PMI from 1980 until 1999. He was a director and a former president of PMI and helped steer the Institute through a governance change. He previously served as vice president and president of the PMI Washington, D.C. Chapter. In 1983, he was selected as delegation leader of a 30-person team to study productivity in the People's Republic of China.

Dr. Ireland was the PMI Person of the Year in 1984. He helped found the PMI Pike's Peak Regional, Colorado Chapter. He is the author or co-author of more than 40 major project publications, and received the PMI Fellow Award in 1989.

He sadly passed away in 2012 at the age of 75.
