Jon William Toigo is CEO and Managing Partner of Toigo Partners International LLC, an independent consultancy and technical research & analysis firm focused on providing actionable guidance to IT decision makers. He is a 20-year IT veteran who has worked both as an operative within corporate information systems departments and as a senior consultant with two international systems integrators. He is also a prolific writer with 13 books and over 1000 articles in the technology trade press to his credit. His technology columns in popular print and on-line media garner a loyal readership of over 500,000 per month.
Toigo founded Toigo Partners International as an alternative to current IT research & analyst practices that largely fail to provide IT consumers with information they need to make informed and intelligent choices. Products offered by TPI focus on the business value that can be derived from technology acquisitions and feature methodologically consistent comparisons of competing solutions. TPI also facilitates developers of new technologies with guidance on product design that will enable them to deliver products that have real value to global consumers.
Toigo has published over 1000 articles in the computer trade press for publications ranging from Computerworld, Network Computing, Scientific American, and Washington Technology to Enterprise Systems, SearchStorage, TidalWire, and Network World.
He has also written thirteen books, including Disaster Recovery Planning,3rd Edition: Preparing for the Unthinkable (Prentice Hall PTR: September 2002), The Holy Grail of Data Storage Management (Prentice Hall: 1999), and The Essential Guide to ASPs (Prentice Hall: September 2001). Forthcoming titles include The Holy Grail of Networked Storage Management, which is to be published by Prentice Hall PTR in 2003.
In addition to his work in print, Toigo provides consulting and analysis services to a broad range of international clients, ranging from technology vendors to consumers. Past clients have included Adaptec, AT&T, BMC Software, Brocade Communications Systems, Cisco Systems, Compaq Computer Corporation, Computer Associates, EMC Corporation, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, Tek-Tools, and many others.
Toigo also facilitates corporate end users of information technology with strategic design and architecture advice, acquisition support and disaster recovery planning assistance. He has developed disaster recovery plans for 68 organizations and helped to form one of the first DR user groups in the US, the Disaster Avoidance and Recovery Information Group (DARING) in the late 1980s.

Jon is married to his business partner, Margaret Romao Toigo, who illustrates and edits his books. They are the parents of six children. When he isn?t working, Jon fills his time with family, friends, and hobbies that include shooting, music, and cooking.
