John has been a UNIX fanatic ever since he got his first shell account while he was a senior in high school in 1991. He learned the fine art of UNIX system administration while an undergrad at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), where he earned a Bachelor of Philosophy from the School of Interdisciplinary Studies. He currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife Rachel and two cats, and excitedly awaits the birth of their baby boy in April 1998.
