Erik A. Roth is a Consultant in the Boston office of McKinsey & Co. While at McKinsey, Roth has focused his client work on the consumer packaged goods, retail, and telecommunications industries.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Roth worked with Clayton M. Christensen at Harvard Business School, where he helped further Christensen’s research on innovation. He also authored a number of case studies and working papers. Previously, Roth spent several years as Marketing and New Product Development Manager for OnStar, General Motors's in-vehicle wireless telecommunications service. He was instrumental in the launch of new technology platforms and services while working to grow OnStar's subscriber base to 1 million. Roth also worked for a number of years as a Consultant for the Marketing Corporation of America, where he advised Fortune 500 clients on marketing and strategic growth issues focusing on the consumer packaged goods and high-tech industries.
Roth received a B.A. with high honors in international politics and economics, cum laude, from Middlebury College, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with his wife, Kate, and his daughter, Annabel.
