Edward S. Devlin

Edward S. Devlin, CBCP, has been involved in Business Continuity Planning since 1973. He is recognized as a leading consultant, author, instructor, and is a well known international speaker in the field of Business Continuity and Business Resumption Planning. Mr. Devlin is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Disaster Recovery Journal, a member of the Advisory Board of the National Association of Contingency Planners, and a former member of the Certification Board of the Disaster Recovery Institute International.

He was also a member of the Advisory Board of the Delaware Valley Disaster Recovery Information Exchange Group, prior to it becoming part of the Survive organization.

From 1973, when he co-founded Devlin Associates, to the present time, Mr. Devlin has assisted over 1,000 companies throughout the world in the development or enhancement of their Business Continuity and Business Resumption Programs.

Mr. Devlin also introduced the first conference dedicated to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning in June 1977. This became an annual conference that was continued for 16 consecutive years, until June 1992 when the temporarily retired from full-time employment in order to concentrate his efforts on writing.

Mr. Devlin has co-authored a book entitled Business Resumption Planning published by Auerbach Publishing Company — 1994. Ed is also a contributing editor with the Disaster Recovery Journal magazine. He has written articles or has been quoted in a number of newspaper and magazines including the Disaster Recovery Journal, the ISP News, the Crisis Magazine, Computerworld, Information Week, Bank Systems & Equipment, Insurance Software Review, and many more.

During his 30 years in the industry, he has pioneered much of the philosophy, procedures, and phraseology used in the industry today.
