A former journalist, newsletter editor, and international management consultant, Chris is an editor, book editor, ghostwriter and author specializing in business topics. His editorial credits include: ghostwriting, editing or “book doctoring” books on corporate strategy, customer relationships, entrepreneurship and leadership; publishing an anthology on marketing thought leaders; writing articles for clients or under his own name for trade and general business magazines; providing editorial support for consulting companies and CEO seminars; adapting academic journals and working papers for the Ideas for Leaders website; and critiquing and “developing” manuscripts for major business book publishers on a freelance basis.

A graduate of George Washington University, Chris began his career as a reporter for daily newspapers in Massachusetts and Virginia.

In the late 1980s, as European countries prepared for union, Chris left journalism to embark on a career as a strategic consultant based in Paris. The firm he joined, SMG France, specialized in mergers and acquisitions and business development; a later joint venture added organizational development to the SMG portfolio. Through numerous and varied projects with companies in France, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, Chris developed a finer understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by businesses around the world.

On his return to the U.S., Chris became editor, and eventually editor in chief, of Soundview Executive Book Summaries, an international newsletter on business books. During those years, he read and reviewed thousands of business books, and interviewed many of the world’s leading business book authors.  He left Soundview to launch his own freelance editorial venture in 2006.

In addition to his work as an editor, book editor and ghostwriter, Chris has published articles on leadership, marketing, business trends, and innovative business thinkers in publications such as MWorld, the journal of the American Management Association, Smart Business, Selling Power, Priorities, Executive Excellence, Opportunity World and other magazines; has been quoted in newspapers and magazines such as Investor’s Business Daily, The Wall Street Journal, and the Economist; and has been interviewed on numerous local and national radio shows. He was also the subject of feature articles in Fortune magazine and the Chicago Tribune. Chris has also given speeches to various groups and organizations, including local chapters of the Society of Human Resources and the Institute of Management Accountants; service organizations; and a break-out session on leadership at a Rockefeller Center conference. Finally, Chris is an experienced speaker and live interviewer; past events have included introductions and interviews of Jack Welch, Keniche Ohmae and other business leaders and thinkers in front of live audiences at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Frankfurt Opera House in Frankfurt, Germany, and Milano Congressi (MiCo) in Milan, Italy.
